A to Z Challenge 2015: P - The Princess Bride

Happy Saturday!

I almost didn't get this post done in time.

Today's 2015 April A to Z Blogging Challenge story for the letter P:

The Princess Bride

Here is the summary, from IMDB:

While home sick in bed, a young boy's grandfather reads him a story called The Princess Bride.

Director: Rob Reiner
Writers: William Goldman (book), William Goldman (screenplay)
Stars: Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin, Robin Wright

What a terrible summary! That doesn't describe the story at all.

That's it! Enjoy your day off tomorrow.

That was my featured movie as well!

Terrible summary, but amazing book, in my opinion.

That really is a bad synopsis. But perhaps it doesn't need any more - people who love it are happy to wax lyrical about it, the old fashioned word-of-mouth way :-)

Never heard of this film, is it like Never-ending Story? Kidding... it was a great film!

This movie has some of the best quotable lines in it. My youngest ran around for months yelling "prepare to die!" after she first saw it.

Great movie, great book. My son just finished it, and now all the kids are quoting it. JEN Garrett

Great minds, thinking alike. I wasn't surprised to see you feature this movie today.

This has to be one popular story year after year.

This was one of the funniest books I ever read. I remember laughing out loud and disturbing my roommate. When the movie came out I was underwhelmed.

My American friends made me watch this last year, swearing it was the best movie ever. And I was like "Huh...?" A lot of it is probably childhood nostalgia :D I wonder why this movie never took off in Hungary.

I almost forgot today was a day off-yeah! I loved Princess Bride, it's one of my favorites.

Haha, but is a wonderfully imaginative and adventurous story, so really, people should watch it themselves :-)

I loved both the movie and the book, in completely different ways. Some part of me is still in love with the Man in Black after all these years and I'm still hoping Inigo will show up to revenge me among my enemies sometime.

Agreed. Terrible summary, but great book and great movie!

Dropping by from AtoZ.

The Princess Bride is my all time fav movie. I own it, the soundtrack and the book. Alex posted it too! My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die. Or, I don't think that word means what you think it means. Or, ok, I'll stop! I could go on! Lisa, co-host AtoZ 2015, @ http://www.lisabuiecollard.com
