A to Z Challenge 2015: B - Breaking Bad

Welcome to the second day of the 2015 April A to Z Blogging Challenge! I hope your first day went wonderfully. Mine certainly did.

Today we have the second letter, the letter B. And for my theme, we have the second TV show in a row.

I'm not really very surprised, since we are in a golden age of television. I will most likely include a few other TV shows in this list, so pay attention, and see if you agree with my choices.

Today's 2015 April A to Z Blogging Challenge story for the letter B:

Breaking Bad

In my opinion, this is probably the greatest television show ever produced. The writing, the acting, the cinematography, all are absolutely phenomenal. If you haven't seen it, I strongly encourage you to get caught up.

Here is the summary from IMDB:

A chemistry teacher diagnosed with a terminal lung cancer, teams up with his former student, Jesse Pinkman, to cook and sell crystal meth.

Creator: Vince Gilligan
Stars: Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn

That's it for today! Nice and short when it's a TV show only. Be sure to visit my A to Z Challenge 2015 Assistants: Sylvie from Life from An Optimist's Point of View, and Carrie-Anne Brownian/Ursula Hartlein from Welcome to My Magick Theatre, and now I'm off to make it through as much of my part of the list as I can!

Hi, Matthew,
This is one I've heard of but never watched.

I've only watched a few episodes. But I have become hooked on the spin-off, Better Call Saul! :)

I've heard a lot of good things about that show, but I've never seen it. Sounds like I should, though. :)

I loved Breaking Bad. I think it is one of the greatest (on par with The Wire). ;) Better Call Saul is also shaping up to be quite amazing!
Great theme :)

Never heard of the TV serial but yesterday my television broke badly - completely kaput. My new TV arrives on Tuesday so for the next few days my house is TV free!

Never watched this show. Commercials always intrigued me, though.

I loved this show. SPOILER ALERT: I enjoyed watching Walt transform from a meek, cuckolded man to a heartless drug lord. I loved the depth of all the characters except Skyler. I hated her from the beginning and wish she had been blown up instead.

I'll admit, I'm a little late on the Breaking Bad front. It is on my Netflix though and I'm making my way toward it.

I've heard great things about this one, too!

Hmm... never saw this one. So becoming a drug lord is a good thing here? Not sure if I could handle that!

Love your theme for the month, though!

I still haven't seen the end of this series. One day when I'm not writing books, I'm going to catch up with a lot of TV.

I know this show was beloved but a show based around making and selling such a terrible drug kind of turned me off after the first few episode.

I loved Breaking Bad, it certainly was a well-thought out, well rounded show, about the evolution of a villain. The cast was great they balance humor and violence to create a show that was just addicting.

I'm also loving it's prequel, but I wish they'd marketed Better Call Saul a little differently. It's way more emotionally driven and less violent than BB and I wonder if it would appeal to a slightly different audience than the fans of Breaking Bad.

I haven't watched A Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad, but I also haven't lived where there is cable for the last seven years, haha. I think when I get to Canada, I'll have plenty of time to get caught up, though. :)

We didn't start watching Breaking Bad until the series ended, so we were late to the party. It is an extraordinary series, and the actors' ability to make their characters sympathetic while doing such horrible things is a testament to their immense talent.

I agree about it being the greatest. I think binge TV watching came from this show. Cranston I've liked him since Malcom

Funny. I love that show but only seem able to take it a little at a time so I am only on season 4. Loving Better Call Saul, though. Not quite as difficult to absorb.

Breaking Bad was one of the best shows ever. Loved it. =D

Such a finely-tuned and planned-out show. I really want to see Better Call Saul, too.

I've watched a few seasons. Plan on watching more this summer. Good show.

I watched a handful of episodes and keep meaning to go back and watch the entire series. Your post is a good reminder to go pick it back up when I finish the other show that I'm watching. Yes, I have a habit of watching entire shows from start to finish...one at a time. A bit weird maybe but I like it :)

I've never watched this show, but I've heard so many people say they love it! I need to check it out! Great post!

I've been familiar with Breaking Bad for a while but haven't watched more than one or two episodes of that show. While I wouldn't necessarily consider it as the greatest television show ever produced (nothing...well, very few shoes beat 24 and The Walking Dead. Ha!), I do agree that the acting is superb and I think it has a well constructed premise and the show is up there with the best shows that are an example of what great television should look like.

Hey if you're selling crystal meth, then you can't have a better partner than a chemistry teacher. LOL.

I agree one hundred percent. I was one of the latecomers to Breaking Bad and the benefit of that - binge watching several years in one long setting . I love everything about it. The characters, especially Jesse. I couldn't believe how much I like the Walter White character , because he did some really bad shit and often he seemed completely unredeemable. I like how the writers didn't try and make him turn into a good guy in the end. For all the bad stuff he did, I think he truly loved Jesse like a son

As a TV critic (and self-styled TV addict from waaaay back), I can say with some authority that Breaking Bad is indeed, one of the best shows in television history. In other words, I really really like the show.

Loving the A to Z so far!
I liked this show more than I expected to. Not sure if the women characters were as well written, though. Really enjoying Better Call Saul at the moment!

I LOVED LOVED this show. I was sad it ended, but also I was eager to see HOW it would end. I think it was the BEST ending for any tv series ever. It didn't leave a fat question mark like The Sopranos end. LOVED it. Did I say that already? Am I clear?

Best show ever? Yes, absolutely agree. I can't think of anything else in the history of tv that remained so consistently mind-blowingly good from beginning to end (but I'm holding out hope that Game of Thrones will).

My wife was obsessed with this show. Too modern for me. (After all, I am a time traveller from the 11th century.)
