I'm going to be extremely busy today, directing you to three different posts (including this one), but with the A to Z challenge coming up, I've got to fit everything in I can, before April.
So, very quickly, this is the cover for the upcoming and highly anticipated Passenger, the sequel to The Marbury Lens, by Andrew Smith which will be released Fall 2012. In case you live under a rock, or don't know me very well, here is a bit about the book:
Jack and Conner have a plan.
They think it's the only reasonable way to deal with the Marbury lens.
But the four boys - Jack, Conner, Ben, and Griffin - end up scattered in different places at different times. Jack is lost in a Marbury that isn't Marbury, a Glenbrook that isn't Glenbrook, pursued through every crumbling not-world by an uncaring cop trying to solve the mystery of Freddie Horvath's murder, and a deceitful kid named Quinn Cahill who believes he is the King of Marbury. Jack's universe is collapsing in on itself. He finds his friends. He finds his home.
There's always just one thing, and Jack knows it.
This can't be it.
Be excited, because if you do know me, you know that I think The Marbury Lens is one of the best books I've ever read. Passenger looks to be everything it was and more.
Now, I really am sorry to bother you with all these other posts, but like I said, I have to cram a lot of things in before the A to Z challenge begins next month. So, first, please visit Project Mayhem, and read the post I wrote arguing that The Hobbit is Middle Grade.
Then, please visit Afterglow Book reviews, and read my un-review of Please Ignore Vera Dietz, by A.S. King. Then you may go on about your day.
Thank you!

I'm with you. Marbury Lens is one of my favorite books! And I don't usually read that kind of stuff - I just love great writing and storytelling. Looks great!
That almost looks like Frodo there!
The Marbury Lens is one of my favorite book covers, one that actually does the book justice, in my opinion. This cover is quite an amazing follow-up. I'm almost scared to read The Passenger because I know it will be harrowing (but that won't stop me from pre-ordering).
I haven't read Marbury Lens. From yours and Laura's raves about it, I guess I better check it out. Thanks.
And sorry you have to be at work at 6:00. But you get off work way earlier than the rest of us.
I've yet to read Marbury Lens. It's still on my TBR list, though. This cover is interesting. Guess I'll be adding another book to that list. :D
I think everybody's kind of crazy-busy today. :p
Cool cover, and I do remember that you lurved TML. Blog on, my bleep. I'll run over to those posts. Hobbit as MG? Hmm...
Yikes!! One at a time! One at a time!! LOL!
:-)
Take care
x
You are one busy boy! The Marbury Lens is on my wish list of books to read. I'm now reading Dust of a 100 Dogs and all I can say is WOW! So I'm thinking I need to get on the stick with the Marbury Lens. Your thumbs up mean a lot.
oh how excellent! I had no idea there would be a sequel but as soon as I saw the cover...suffice it to say this will be one hardcover I WILL be buying.
Hah! With all these 'new' people wanting to read TML maybe amazon will lighten up. I'll let you know when/if I get it - what I think. Thanks again.
I'm excited! Can't wait to read this.
Gosh, you have been busy! That's a very striking cover.
OK, I think I'm the one under the rock. I think my TBR is piling up, but I'll add this one too:)
Sounds like you're busy Matt. As soon as you mentioned the Hobbit, you had me. Scooting over there now...
Starting the week off in a sprint Matthew; I like it.
On the way over to read your argument on the Hobbit.
I'd buy that based on the cover art alone. Looks like I'll be buying the first one soon. Thanks!
Uoh, Marbury Lens sounds awesome! I'm getting it :-) My TBR list is huge but this book sounds like my cup of tea, so I'm putting it at the top of the list.
Did you say The Hobbit? Now you got my attention.
I still haven't read The Marbury Lens but I'll need to get on that, if only so I can get my hands on this one. That cover is fantastic.
God i love that cover. Can't wait for this!
The Marbury Lens original cover drew me to buy it, and I was awed by the book. Love this sequel cover. Can't wait to read it.
*shivers* That eye piece gives me chills.
Love the cover!!
Ooh, that is a cool cover!
I've got the marbury lens at school - but I have to get the kids to stop reading it so I can... :)
You do have a lot going on. I'll hop around and see what you've got going on.
Man, I still have to find time to read the first one. Tell him to delay the book a while.
Those glasses look totally steampunk.
And now I have to check out The Marbury Lens, as it sounds pretty incredible.
I've been excited about this cover reveal. And I'm not disappointed. The cover is extremely appropriate, fitting perfectly with the style and design from The Marbury Lens.
Yeah! Love it.
That cover is freakin' SA-WEET!
Totally know how you feel about cramming things in before April hits. Doing the same thing, lol. :)
This looks awesome. Can't wait to read it!
