Hiatus

On the advice of my trusted friend and loyal confidant (after we spent the weekend destroying Twitter with his most excellent new hasthag #PostRaptureTips), Simon C. Larter, I'm going to be giving the blog a little break.

I'm getting very close with my major re-write and the other revisions that go along with it, and I had sort of set a loose goal for June earlier this year, so I need to buckle down and focus on my writing. Writing the blog really doesn't take me that much time, but I won't be reading blogs either, and that will make a huge difference.

If you happen to write something incredibly profound, or would like my assistance with something, feel free to email me, but otherwise: I'll be in the cave.

Hey, good luck with all that. I know how you feel, but I'm still painting the damn kitchen. See you when you get back.

I hope this is a really productive time for you, Matt. It's important to disconnect sometimes, and we'll still be here when you return. Happy writing/revising to you!

We'll still be here, ready to read when you get back. Now go finish that MS!

Good luck with the rewrites. That's great that you are taking the break you need. Hope it is very productive.

I'll be celebrating Elana Johnson's debut with her on June 6th. If you can leave your cave, maybe stop by and say hi.

Best of luck, Matt. I'm in the same position as you, right now. Goal for early June. I just entered ACT III of my rewrite but them I'll have to peek at what my CPs edits have to say. I'm thinking about a blogging break too. :)

Good luck with everything Matt! We all have to take a break once in a while.

I hate seeing the word "hiatus" in a blog-heading from my favorite blogger. Now how am I going to start my weekdays?! (Yup, it's all about me 24/7).

I think you're just sneaking off because you destroyed Twitter and are now a marked man.

Okay, time to be serious: best of luck with those rewrites. We'll throw you a tickertape parade when you resurface, shiny ms. held aloft.

You'll be missed. But I understand. I've done the same type of thing.

Best of luck with the re-write, Matthew. May your time int he cave be more focused and productive than mine has ever been. (Don't worry, that shouldn't be hard to beat.)

Would that be the bat cave? Are you really batman?

Good luck with your re-writes and enjoy your hiatus.

But… but… you’re my morning coffee. 7 am, five days a week, you’re always there.

Really, you’re doing exactly what you should, and setting a good example to boot.

And I can always grab a torch and venture into the archives.

Good luck! Take lots of snacks into the writing cave... and caffeine... ;)

Good luck with your rewrite and revisions. I've been keeping a low profile myself. It's been a busy May and I need to focus on finishing my first draft.

Looking forward to your return!

I'm always encouraged when people take blogging breaks, oddly enough. :) It makes people more... real. 'Hey guys, I can't always commit to this multi-hour reading/writing blogs thing when I have a job, a life, and a novel I'm writing. kthxbye." Makes perfect sense.
Good luck on your writing!!

Keep writing "till all are one!" Hmm...what other Transformers references can I throw in here? Oh, yeah, make procrastination become your Megatron to overcome! And remember, you've got the touch, you've got the power! Man, I gotta go back and watch that video again!

I'm impressed, you went a hella long time before needing to take a hiatus for one reason or another. You have rest of our old crew beat!! :D

Good luck in the cave!! I hope you get everything accomplished you'd like to.

Oh. My. God.

We freakin are the same person. I just told Jess in an email this a.m. that I was going to have to take off for June. With the move and me being out of town nonstop, etc. I wouldn't even be near a computer at times...

and look at you.

Stop Copying Me!!! ;p

j/k--good luck w/the writing. Can't wait to see it~ <3

I hope you don't even see this comment until you're done in the cave. I'm heading in there next week. Kill the spiders for me, okay?

Justine Dell said...

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, though, I wish you well while you are away ;-)

Isn't this your first-ever hiatus? You've been a mad-blogger for over a year, so you deserve a break to work on your book.

Good luck!
