Look What I Got Last Night!
I don't have much for you guys today but I do have this announcement about the packages I received last night! See all the books that arrived?
Catching Fire, Mockingjay, and Nightshade City are the books I ordered from Amazon with the gift card I got when I got my buddy Cleve to sign up for Gamefly. Get a friend to sign up for an awesome video games by mail service and get free books? Hell yes.
I'm a little ticked that Nightshade City's title didn't show up properly in this photo because it's a beautiful cover and Hilary Wagner is the best ever. It's very exciting because this is the first time ever that I have actually held a real life book in my hand that was written by someone I know, sort of. Hilary is the nicest person you could ever meet. Be sure to visit her blog here and become a follower. You can also read the post where she shared her query with me and The QQQE readers, here.
Linger was sent to me by none other than the lovely Candace Ganger (Beth), because she hearts me (Tim) and wanted to get some crap out of her way before she moved (after). That's what the pink post-it says. "Thanks for taking some crap off my hands, Tim". Candace and I have nick names for each other because we are both slightly mentally ill. Or at least I am. I don't know her well enough to know for sure. Now I have to run out and buy Shiver because my daughter Kylie really wants to jump right into that series.
I had wanted to read Nightshade City right away but my younger daughter Madison has now claimed that one. That's okay. Catching Fire will get me through the weekend.
What are you all reading now? Don't you love having free books show up at your door?

Free books are the best! Right now, I'm waiting for Catching Fire to magically appear at my library. Although, I might break down and buy it. I just have no more room on my bookshelf!
Lucky! Enjoy them.
I was given a free ARC of Paranormalcy from my local bookstore. Then I won a book on a website called Enchanted Darkly, but I haven't read it yet.
Right now, I'm reading The Eternal Ones by Kirsten Miller and Tithe by Holly Black.
Opening packages like that is Christmas morning joy!
Congrats! You deserve it!
All great books! I have a similar pile to start working on this weeked!
Thanks for taking the crap. I hope you love it as much as I did. (I don't *think* I'm mentally ill, but isn't that what the mentally ill would say? Touche.)
Looks like you'll be busy this weekend. I have got to pick up Nightshade City! That one looks so good. I just finished Jessica V's...The Haunted. It was amazing! Not sure what I'm going to read next but I have a huge TBR pile so I'll find something!
I was going to mention that Nightshade City is the only one I don't have. It still looks sweet. *sigh* My TBR pile is monstrous. I'm currently reading Paranormalcy--almost done--but I need to do one of these posts. Over the last three months, I've received quite a few books from giveaways and contests. I need to share more. ";-)
Oh you lucky duck! I'm so jealous. I want to read Nightshade City too! May I borrow it when your family's through with it. I promise to return it...really. :)
it's so amazing how nice and generous people are with the free books! your haul looks great! happy reading!
Reading an ARC of WondLa by Tony DiTerlizza. Also, stealing Red Pyramid from my boy whenever I can.
Free books are the best! Right now I'm reading The Butterfly Key. It's the first book I've read in a long time. I should really make for time for that. LoL Yeah, in my dreams. ;-)

wow, you will have some helluva time reading! And as Alex says, opening a package with books really is like unwrapping a Christmas present .
I LOVE getting books in the mail.
And catching fire was my favorite of the trilogy
Those are such awesome books. I'm reading Nightshade City every chance I get, but since I have Under The Dome checked out from the library and have to turn it in in two weeks, plus two book club books to read... I'm only about half way through. But I love it. Go Vincent! Linger's also on my short list. The other two I read the second they came out.
Have fun with all these great reads!
I have to add, I'm so excited for Nightshade City, Hilary is great, and this book isn't even due for release until Oct. but B& N already has it and it's getting great buzz
New books arriving in the mail is the absolute best!! Enjoy your weekend reading.
Matt, you are possible the coolest, sweetest guy writer ever! Thanks so much for your awesome post about my book! I can't wait to hear you and your daughter's thoughts! I hope you both love it! I can't wait until someday I'm sharing a picture of your awesome book on my blog!!!!! And I know I will!!!!!! :):):):):):)
xoxo -- Hilary
woo hoo! I just won Nightshade City--can't wait. And how cool you can share books with your daughter!
The only free book I've gotten in the mail wasn't very good, but the aothor's a promotional genious. I'm now on book 3 of George RR Martin's Fire & Ice series -- Wonderful!
I think you posted this pick to rub your good fortune in. Haha--lucky you.
I just finished a book on the Beltway Sniper incident and will be finding a new read soon.
I just ordered Nightshade City! And Hilary's in my SCBWI chapter, so I'm planning to attend her book lauch party next month. And I'm bringing my oldest son because it looks like there will be lots of fun to be had. :)
I love it when books I payed for finally arrive! But, yes, free books are so much better!!!
I finally started reading The Hunger Games last night. It's about time I know what everyone is always talking about.
Enjoy your new books! :)
Nice! I love getting books via mail. Feels like Christmas. :)

OK--I was about to razz you over Linger. But since Candy sent it to you, I won't...
I have ZERO books to read and my ninny book club that was "too scared" to read The Hunger Games now all want to read Catching Fire--no help there (but you have to share your thoughts~)
I've WON! several books, but I don't think they'll make it before my plane trip Monday... grrr... might have to break down and make a purchase~
have fun reading & great weekend~ <3
You lucky duck! Congratulations on the bookage!
Wow...lucky, lucky you!
Free books are awesome, whether in the mailbox or sent right to your ereader of choice. I won a $20 amazon card on a blog, and loved it when I finished a book at midnight and saw a sequel. Bought it with the gift card and was reading within a minute.
Aww Brilliant!! I'm slightly tinged green with envy! LOL!
take care

Free books are indeed the best! Enjoy.
I've got Shiver from the library and am halfway through First Contact by Evan Mandery. Pretty funny stuff. Anytime you have a book where the President of the U.S. (fictional character of course) wets himself, you've got my complete and undivided attention. hahahaha
Books in the mail -- waa-hoo! LOL I'm reading Hunger Games. All the hype about Mockingjay made me go out and buy the entire series for my Nook.
Yay for free books!
You will LOVE Nightshade city ;)
Since I have a gym-sized locker to live out of, I have limited space for books, so I subscribe to Booksfree. Love the service. Next shipment is supposed to be I Am Not a Serial Killer and Shiver (because I won a signed copy of Linger, which is on its way--yay, free books).
I recently finished Alex's book, CassaStar! (So I totally get that "person you know" feeling) I started reading Kerosene and Reflex while I wait for my next book shipment. I wish all I had to do was read all day!
Wow, free books are the bomb! Jealous.
I'm reading Fledgling by Octavia Butler and next is Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver.
Wow! That's brilliant! I'm waiting for Linger to be at my Library. Tell us what you think when you finish!
:)
It's funny, I'm reading Hunger Games right now, and it arrived free in the mail (I won it in a lovely contest held by Susan Quinn).
Must be something in the air.
I've just begun Fver Dream from Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. I've heard so much of Paranormalcy lately that I'll order that next.
Stephen Tremp
Those are awesome!! I enjoyed Shiver and am waiting on Linger. Loved Catching Fire and am waiting on Mockingjay. Looking forward to Hilary's book soon too!
The Ides of March by Thornton Wilder and free books are awesome!I just got one I won on Dianne Salerni's blog and it's next on my reading list: Struts and Frets.
