A to Z Announcement

So here it is, the big news I was talking about (I know, I should have thought about it before I wrote it that way, made it sound like agent news, didn't it? Sorry).

This year I've been asked to be a co-host of the venerable A to Z blogfest, which is the biggest blogfest I know of, and has been a huge success, ever since Arlee Bird started it, nearly two years ago.

Here is the official list of all the co-hosts:

Tossing It Out (Arlee Bird)
Amlokiblogs (Damyanti Biswas)
Alex J. Cavanaugh (Alex J. Cavanaugh)
Life is Good (Tina Downey)
Cruising Altitude 2.0 (DL Hammons)
Retro-Zombie (Jeremy Hawkins)
The Warrior Muse (Shannon Lawrence)
Author Elizabeth Mueller (Elizabeth Mueller)
Pearson Report (Jenny Pearson)
No Thought 2 Small (Konstanz Silverbow)
Breakthrough Blogs (Stephen Tremp)
Coming Down the Mountain (Karen G)

If you don't know what the A to Z challenge is, you're in for a treat. It's a blogfest mainly devoted to meeting new bloggers, but also to flexing your blogging muscles, and committing to 26 posts in April, one for every letter of the alphabet. It's tough, but it's worth it.

Please visit all the hosts, and make sure you're following them. There is also an official A to Z blog and website, so you should check that out as well. Further news, and announcements about where and when you can sign up, will be coming soon.

Get ready!

Does co-hosting mean you have to read a thousand entries a day? I will try to keep mine brief this year. :)

Ah, this is intriguing! I kind of can't imagine blogging Every. Single. Day. for a month... but I also like taking on new things I can't imagine actually doing.

Okay... Unless the Mayan Apocalypse hits early, I'm in.

This will be my first big challenge so I'm excited! Better start preparing...

Fasten your seat belts! :)

Congrats on co-hosting... I hope I'm up for the challenge.

I had to laugh at Tonja's comment. Good Lord, no! Can't be done.
But it is such a blast. And you'll make some lasting friendships.

OMIGOSH did you pull a team of new co-hosts! You guys rock! I love seeing that you're going to be a part of it again Alex! I wish I could join but with house hunting, the adoption process, AND writing, blogging, and work... GOODNESS, I don't know I'd be able to fit it in.

That being said I'm hoping to still participate blogging wise... after all, it's how I met so many amazing people!

Congrats on the cohosting gig! Some great people are involved!

I will surely have to give it a look, as I post every single day anyway at my nook. So this could just give me some relief, as I'd have direction and not have to come up with stuff out of the blue..haha

Matthew, the 2012 Challenge will be incredible with you and the others on the Team. Glad you'll be on board with us. And to anyone who feels like the Challenge is daunting, don't worry it's not as bad as it may sound. You'll have a great time.

I think it's great that you were chosen as a co-host for this event. I didn't participate last year, having just joined the blogosphere in mid-April.

This year? Holy wow. Seems a bit daunting for this sporatic blogger.
At any rate, I wish all the participants the very best and kudos on their commitments!

Ahhhh ... you're double posting. Been there. Forgot I had more than one thing going at the same time hahaha.

Good luck and have fun with it. It's the second most wonderful time of the year. Well, not exactly. But it is a lot of fun.

Hi Matt!

Great double post. (I'm reading this first and then, with coffee in hand, I'll enjoy the query letter post)

I'm looking forward to co-hosting with you and the team. It's my first year too...but I'm stoked!

Cheers, Jenny @ PEARSON REPORT

I've seriously been considering doing this one. My commitment phobic self has been kicking and screaming. Now I see the three guys who top my 'good guy' list (you know who you are,or at least you should) are among the co-host, I'm looking for some strong rope and a gag.

I'll be there, I think.

Gonna give it a whirl this time. By the way, we're neighbors, kinda. (Norcross) Good luck co-hosting, Count me in as your newest follower.

If Matthew says it's a good thing, it is a good thing.

Awesome news that you're co-hosting. I won't be participating but I look forward to reading the A-Z posts. Good luck!

Woot! I participated last year and it was loads of fun. :D

What an awesomely cool team of hosts again this year. I participated last year for the first time and absolutely loved it. I can't wait for this year.

You said if we commented on both posts today, we rock, and I definitely want to rock.

On a totally different note, I'm thrilled that you liked the start of my NaNo YA (Mothman) novel over at In High Spirits. I take that as a compliment, given that you critique queries all the time over here!

Hopefully next time it IS agent news! Can't wait to work with you!

I'm seriously considering doing this, just for the push to the brain to come up with ideas. Can I add photos too?

I did check out the website earlier. More visibility is a good thing, that's another motivation for me.

Thanks to all the partner hosts.

Holy Moly ... I'm still tossing and turning in the middle of the night from the last two I participated in. EEEK! Would be just stupid of me not to participate, wouldn't it ... :-/ Oh GOD ... I'd better get my thinking hat on and start writing posts, like, NOW. I've got the Steinbeck Fest in the 5th of May that I need to be organizing in April. This is SUCH a TOUGH decision!!!! Especially since you are now a host ... Oh MATT!!!!
