My First Author Meeting: Joe Lunievicz

I just met Joe Lunievicz for lunch at the Buckhead Diner! Joe and I have been friends online for a while, nearly a year, and I know you know (because of my review) that I loved his novel, but it's a totally different story meeting an author friend, mentor, and inspiration in real life like this.

We had a wonderful, long conversation, which I'm not going to go into here, but I will just say that it's an amazing feeling as an aspiring writer to know that you are not alone in your doubts and struggles, and it feels good to be understood.

It was very kind of Joe to take time out of his vacation to come meet me, so I just want to say: thank you, Joe! It was an honor and a pleasure meeting you.

Here are some quick reminders about where you can find Joe:

The blog section of Joe's website.

The rest of Joe's website.

Open Wounds Facebook Fan Page.

And Open Wounds:

IndieBound

GoodReads

Powells

Amazon

I know I've been absent of late dear readers, but I've got a cool new series planned for next week (starting tomorrow) so please keep coming back!

By the way, I really love that photo! I think it looks like I've lost weight, which is great, but if you look closely you can see a sweat spot lingering boldly between my man-boobs.

I'm not ashamed. I'm working on it.

The absolute best thing about the on-line writing community is that it really helps you believe that you are not alone:)

Matt, you crack me up *shakes head * man boobs. If you put a bra on them you might be able to get a muffin top :)

Writer meetups are for the win. They're better with alcohol, but I can understand epic workdays and lack of sleep, so I'll let it slide. This time.

How cool that you got to meet in person! And ... yeah, like everyone else, your comment totally distracted me. It is a nice picture, though.

Aw, it's so great when you get to meet another writer face-to-face! I got to meet a blog buddy for lunch recently, and it was such a nice change.

And that's a great picture (your comment is hilarious!)

Very, very cool. Reminds me of when Dick Cavett met Groucho Marx on the street one day, and Groucho invited Cavett, a total unknown, to lunch. A real class act.

There is nothing cooler than meeting an online personality who you admire in person! Some day I'll track you down Matt and hang out with you in a pub myself!

Awesome! I love meeting up with my online writer-friends - it should happen much more often than it does, I think. It means so much to know that I'm not alone in everything I struggle through as a writer. I'm glad you had the opportunity to meet Joe.
