Having grown up in the South, I have the ingrained reaction to look up in terror when I hear a twang accompanied by any kind of banjo-like instrument. However, I love folk music, and this is sort of close to some Nancy Griffith and John Hiatt stuff that I love to blast on a fall day. Nice Friday choice :)

You do like a variety of music, don't you?
Love your eclectic tastes. But, I'm afraid my organs pretend they're not actually made of human tissue, when I hear country. :P
I normally can't stand much country, Jess, but for some reason, this kind of finger-picking bluegrass sound occasionally appeals to me.

Love them, especially the more mellow works, like their covers of Radiohead's "Black Star" and Neil Young's "Cortez the Killer."
Their last album took eight years, and "The Way It Will Be" from it is also a favorite.

Here's where I first saw them years ago, for the "Brother, Where Art Thou?" concert, with "I Want to Play that Rock 'n Roll."

Not quite my kind of music. Give me rock or pop music anytime, and I'm a happy girl.
That was fun. Not afraid to say 'I Love It'. But, what no queries to critique? Maybe I better get busy.
Thank you! Take care

Feel good music at its finest. I left it running in the backround while I finished blogging and was bopping my head along:)
I have a mix cd of country songs. In general, i don't like country, but i love all the songs on that mix
Rock it, my man.
Love the picking & the vocals!
...O.o...
Boy that was a bit...twangy.
Was that a song featured on Deliverance?
This song paid for by the coalition for high fructose corn syrup.
:P
Interesting piece. Not something I'd build a Pandora station around, but yeah, thanks for the sampling. :))) Happy Friday!
Excellent. Thanks for sharing!
Very much not my tastes, but really, I totally get the appeal. Thanks for widening my horizons, Matt :)
reminds me of Old Crow Medicine Show if Gillian Welch was singing lead. Like it :)
I like Bill Munroe and Del and the Boys on some of their songs, and 'Copperhead Road' by Steve Earle. But only in small bits.
I have eclectic tastes, too, but I prefer jazz, blues, and Dylan, the Bob.
Fun! I love listening to live music, even if it's in a garage or kitchen or whatever. :)
