Glee Part Three

Okay so technically I did not post about Glee last week, but that was mostly only because I missed half the show. Last night it was very hard for me to pick the remote up and tune away from the Hawks game. Of course they were down by several points to Orlando so that helped. Plus watching Glee together is one of the few things we can guarantee to plan on doing as a whole family. With a 14 year old member that's quite an accomplishment.

I know some of you are old hands at loving glee and some of you are new to the party, but it seems to be a popular topic so I enjoy posting about it. Last night I took some notes again. It won't be quite as random as the first time, but I did do my best to stick to the stream of consciousness format.

Here are the notes I made:

- Posting embarrassing videos on Youtube is mean. Poor Star Wars Kid.

- Rachel should not be a -5 on the glist. I think she's totally hot. Dorky sure, but what nerd didn't dream of a girl like her in high school? I did.

- Do they still have to pay Suge Knight when someone wants to license Ice Ice Baby?

- Besides that song still sucks. Listen to the Queen version Under Pressure if you really like the hook.

- Molly Shannon can be annoying, but she is occasionally hilarious as well. I'm just not sure she's appropriate for glee. This show is about being unintentionally hilarious, well that is in an accidentally on purpose kind of way. Not sure if she can pull that off.

- Sue seems like she's being so cruel but really she is helping Emma out.

- Who was the actress playing that old lady with the recently dead husband? Mrs. Garrett? What show was she on?

- Hammer pants are second only to Zubaz on the hella radical scale.

- They should do more hip-hop on Glee. Salt n Pepa or Naughty by Nature would be lots of fun.

- How did Brittany fall in with the outcasts? I realize she blamed her medicine in that first scene, but after?

- Poor Curt. Trying to be bad just keeps backfiring.

- I really don't think the vocoder effect on Sue's voice in the Physical video remix is necessary. I know it's all the rage but this show is about singing. What's next, auto-tune?

- Did Rachel trick each guy into thinking he was the only Joey? Smooth.

- When Mr. Shu stood up for Quinn and didn't snitch on her that was awesome. Not very realistic but hey, it's TV.

After the show I tuned back to the game and the Hawks were down by 40. That's just terrible. I don't want to talk about it.

So that's it for the gleefully fun part (see what I did there). Now onto something a little more serious. Elana Johnson is doing her part to assist some local Nashville writers who are taking action against the recent flooding in the city and that part of Tennessee. If you are not on Elana's email list just drop her a line or comment on her blog.

If you would like to donate a service, book, or even money (I think) you can visit this link: Flood Relief. They are even accepting critiques so if you are a publishing professional of some kind please try to offer your services and do your part.

Thanks everyone for stopping by, have a great day.

I've yet to watch Glee. I've been meaning to but haven't had a chance. Once I finish editing this draft of my ms, I'll have a Glee marathon. ;)

I love Glee. It reminds me it's okay to break into song when I'm feeling down :/

I love Glee. I have two episodes recorded to watch. I'm going to enjoy once I've finished some editing. Using it as motivation. :)

After all the hype, I watched the first episode of Glee, and sadly, I didn't like it at all. I've never watched it since although I still see/hear so many raving about it.

It does seem to be getting worse Jaydee. This season is not nearly as good as the first.

I am relatively Gleeless. But I appreciate your enthusiasm! I did watch the Madonna remake vid and I was really impressed!
Thanks for the links for the flood relief effort, btw. Will check them out.

My mom tried to talk me into watching Glee, but as a whole I detest musicals ... so I can't make myself watch a weekly version of one. From what I've heard from others, it's a love it or hate it show. Seems I know which side you're on. :o)

I love Glee! So awesome post! I must say I'm with you on the whole Molly Shannon thing, I think they thought she would be funny, and I had hoped she would but she wasn't. There is already enough funny!

I love Ice Ice Baby, I can't get enough of how ridiculous of a song it is and watching them dance to it made me laugh.

Sue still rocks!

Hammer Pants (or trousers, as they call them here) are back again in London! I kid you not; it's an 80s revival here!

I've yet to watch Glee, but after your comments, maybe I'll just hafta tune in. Thanks for the Nashville link.

You missed the funniest part of Glee. When Sue says Will needs a diaper for the baby bum on his chin!! I couldn't stop laughing.

Thanks for the link to the Nashville disaster. You are beyond awesome.

I don't watch Glee. but mainly b/c I know I love it and I don't want to watch television. But it sounds absolutely hilarious! Though Lost is over this season, so I might have room soon for another show. Hmm.

I'm a new convert to Glee and I'm hooked.

The Vanilla Ice number, I loved! I can't help it, I love that song. Don't get me wrong, "Under Pressure" by Bowie and Freddie Mercury is pure genius but I still like Ice Ice Baby and giggled repeatedly when they preformed.

Also, I am in love with the movie Grease. Dating myself: I saw it when it came out, I had the record, I played "Grease" with my sister (being the youngest I always had to play the boy), so when I saw Oliva Newton-John on the show, I squealed like a teenage girl at a Hanson concert.

Yeah, Glee was made for my generation...and I love it!

Ah, Glee! I love it so much. Unfortunately I was doing bedtime for my daughter, so I missed most of the show. I'm looking forward to watching in online, no interruptions, tonight. Sounds like quite an episode. I can't wait!

I'm only on episode 5 or 6 so I could only skim your post in fear of spoilers! Love the show though!

Not a Glee-bian, but just had to say Ice Ice Baby is on my all-time most hated songs. Right up there with Who Let the Dogs Out. (Shudder)

I'm so with you on Rache. How is she not popular right? Girl is hot!

this weeks episode was a step up from last week's. Also i have a deep, unashamed love, for total eclipse of the heart.
also Puck, so when he has a bigger role in an episode it's always a win for me
