Skol, Vikings

Congratulations to my Vikings, for making the playoffs by the skin of their teeth. Adrian Peterson, the greatest running back currently in the NFL, missed breaking the all time rushing record by 9 yards.

9 yards.

Still, he is only the 7th player ever to rush for over 2,000 yards, and he began the season only 8 months after a serious knee injury.

Now if only we could build a better team around him.

Skol! AP is amazing. He definitely carried the team.

Good for them and I glad that you are pleased about it. I wouldn't know since I don't keep up with football. I'm the black sheep of my family in that and many other respects.

Have a very wonderful 2013!

AP is incredible, I'll say that. I think Manning will beat him out for MVP, unfortunately.

The NFC is completely wide open. Any team could go to the Superbowl. I think the AFC will come down to Denver and New England. So tired of NE.

I was disappointed the Giants didn't make it.

Go Pats!
I know they have been in it a lot, but they haven't won it in a while and I need a win!
How greedy. Patriots fans are like the Yankee fans of football.

They weren't even to win that game! And Peterson came so close. But as he said in an earlier interview, the Super Bowl is the goal for him.
Just happy last night's game ended the way it did. Any playoffs without the Cowboys is a good playoffs.
(And my wife would like to add that we also don't have to watch Eli stand on the sidelines with his mouth opens. So she's happy the Redskins knocked out the Giants as well.)

That guy is ripped. I bet he could run on his arms.

And good luck with the playoffs!

No offense, but I didn't want to see Eric Dickerson's record broken and breathed a heavy sigh of relief when AP didn't do it.

I love my Rams and I guess I'm stingy that way!

Gotta say, I am NOT a football fan, but the boy loves his Vikings so I watched most of this game. I was massively impressed by how Peterson handled the post game interview. Dude wasn't even aware of how close or how far he was from this personal achievement (and man, PAINFULLY close)-- it was all about the team! I am wondering how we bottle that attitude for congress :)

It's so exciting when the team you love makes it to the playoffs. Me? Like Kristen, I'll be rooting for the Patriots. But only after I cheer for The Irish on the 7th.

Happy New Year, Matt!
