World Champs

I just want to say congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks. They won the first title in the history of the franchise last night. They've been close before, but this is the first time. It's also the first ring for several veteran players who may have otherwise retired without a championship. Players like Jason Kidd, Dirk Nowitzki, and Jason Terry.

That's like a writer who has been after her dreams for decades finally achieving publication.

Now I've got to go write.

I'm not even really a Dallas fan, I'm just glad it wasn't the Lakers again.

Never heard of them before. Obviously I don't watch basketball. It's all about hockey right now around here, although I keep forgetting about that too.

You know what huge hockey fans my family is, but...we watched this game. :) Congrats!

Not really a basketball fan (more football), but very good analogy. Have a productive day, Matt!

Hey, they earned it. They were the better team. And team was key. A great team was better than three great players.

After the first part of the series, I would have said no way do the Mavs win it. Strange how things change.

Not really a Mavs fan, but definately a Heat Hater.

Miami made it easy to cheer against them this year.

Have a great week!

Congratulations, Mavericks! Woot!

I didn't watch the series because we're all Bruins all the time around here. I fully expect to have no fingernails by the end of tonight's game.

That's wonderful! I love it when a different team wins. I get tired of the same old teams winning everything. :)

I'm not a Dallas fan, but I was rooting for them. I guess you could say I'm a Heat hater. I can't stand monopolies, especially in sports.

I'M A MAVERICK!!!

They beat my Blazers in the first round, so even though I hate the DM and Mark Cuban, at least I can say mah team was beaten by the best;) Know what I mean?

I was pulling for them!

Who? What? Er... yay! :)

They're world champs because they never gave up! That's something any person, writer, sports fan, or otherwise, can take away from this!

Great accomplishment for them. Definitely cause for celebration.

Yay for the Mavs! When a Philly team isn't in the finals, I always cheer for the underdogs to win so I'm really happy the Mavs pulled through!!!

I'm not into basketball at all, but I think it's cool that this is the franchise's first championship. Love that analogy, too. Also, I probably would have cheered for the Mavericks just because my dog's name is Maverick. Hee hee!
