Sorry to shamelessly self promote here guys, but yesterday was the Fourth of July, so some of you may have missed my post over at Project Mayhem. If you did, please go read The Character Should Make the Name.
The post itself wasn't that great, kind of rambling as I am wont to do, but the comments were awesome. And there's a link to a fun game in my first comment, one that is heavily related to the post.
Anyway, please go read that, let me know what you think, and then I'll have something real for you here, tomorrow. Thanks!
Can't think of any middle grade characters (my mind is still in RWA fog)...but an interesting post about names.
ReplyDeleteLoved it and added a good comment to the pile.
ReplyDeletePS - I really can name a lot of the Harry Potter cast as good my allies (the group of us who will be getting Potterfied next week).
Headed over there now. :)
ReplyDeleteGame?!?!?! What game?!?! One I may play discreetly here at work while at lunch and tea break(s)!!?? Hope so!! LOL! take care

Loved the post, MacNish! I added a thought or two on character names. Enjoyed it, pal. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder. After I did so badly on the game, I meant to get my kids to help me (like you did!) but I forgot. Will try again tonight :)
ReplyDeleteGame? What game?! Somehow I missed it. Back I go...
ReplyDeleteOoh, a name game? I'll have to learn more about it!

I enjoyed your post.
ReplyDeleteGreat post and great comments that followed. To get so many comments is amazing especially on a holiday when everyone should be outside rather than typing away at computers :)
ReplyDeleteTwas an awesome post :D I've only now seen the link to the HP name game... damn you! I'll be here for hours! Hehe.
ReplyDeleteI read it yesterday!
ReplyDeleteAnd one of my test readers suggested CassaNova. Think my publisher's head would've spun on that one!
Thanks for the reminder Matthew--on the way over now.
ReplyDeleteI'll go check it out!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Really true about character names.
