I grew up in the cold, cold, and Indian Summer was something I remember looking forward to. I thought it was in late September, but it's been a while. Anyway, new piece of work is set down in your southern states....somewhere. Blame it on the voice that popped out of me. She's pretty cool and I can't let go of her, so gotta find a place where she belongs. Somewhere with creepy forests, dead trees, ravines and rivers! Thanks for coming by my blog, I am you...Hi Matthew! Thanks for coming by my blog, I am your newest follower now, it's great to meet you. I'm now to the point where I am following more blogs than I can keep up with, so I'm working on an organizational system like this. There are some I am always going to check in on as they are friends, but I need to figure out a way to make the whole list manageable.

Thanks again and I'm looking forward to reading your blog.Julie Flandershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05003737491313673214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5345890055658252124.post-88148131932786335182011-09-18T05:35:57.094-04:002011-09-18T05:35:57.094-04:00I keep all the blogs I follow in google reader. It...I keep all the blogs I follow in google reader. It's practical, since every blog you add through blogger automatically goes there, only those not on blogger you need to add manually. It tels me who has a new post and how many posts of a certain blog I haven't read yet.

Now, finding the time to read them, that's the tricky part. I have some health issue at the moment that's making me dead tired after 3 PM, and some days I don't even have the energy to turn on the computer. I usually sneak a few peaks at work, and that's where google reader comes in extra handy, I don't need to open multiple tabs and it doesn't draw too much attention when someone glances over my shoulder. The downside is that if I want to leave a comment, I leave it for when I come home, but by that time I'm usually too tired to do it... I'm still trying to figure out what method works best for me.

Thanks for stopping by my blog :) I'll be adding yours to my google reader, and hopefully, find a system that will help me keep up with it more promptly ;)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08774347493321711881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5345890055658252124.post-87036079318546404022011-09-17T21:16:46.777-04:002011-09-17T21:16:46.777-04:00To answer your last question, I did have a little ...To answer your last question, I did have a little lurk around your blog a couple of days ago from a mention over at Michael Offut's and you did make sense that time.

As to reading blogs, I scroll down the blogger dashboard. I'm sure Google reader makes sense, but I'm too lazy to organize my reads into some semblance of order.

I'll follow if I scroll down the page and see interesting stuff that relates to books, blogging and writing. I'll read about pets but I'm not going to follow if the whole page is about what someone's dog did today, yesterday and the day before.

I'll probably not follow the first time I come if there are a host of followers. Misguided, I know, but my first thought is that I'll be lost in the crowd.

Finally, I NEVER talk this much on a first visit. See what you get for asking so many questions. :DJ.L. So you may never see my posts again. My only excuse is hubby's snoring. He goes to bed early to get up early for his job, so I stay up late to write and blog. I use Google Reader through Igoogle, which lets me see my gmail inbox, the weather (gotta make sure it's reading weather) and whatever else I want(forget news feeds-I like cute kitty pictures and free stuff) along with the blogs I can scroll through. I didn't know Google Reader even had a folders option. I see something interesting about writing, publishing or humor, especially punny funny, and I'm gone. I love layered meanings. Oh yeah, and chocolate-with nuts. So we must be related. I mean I'm related to the nuts, not you. I suspect there's another explanation for you having my youngest son's name.Sher A. I'm a newbie and don't have a system yet. Thanks for sharing this with us. I usually visit the blogs of those who leave a comment (which is usually because I left a comment on their blog! Haha!), then visit my favorites and the blogs of people I've connected with and become invested in. Then I go through the Google dashboard and read the blogs that seem to "pop" and look interesting. I also get lots of blog posts by email and try to keep up with the ones that sound interesting or fun. The longer blog posts aren't as appealing to me because I'm not a speed reader and am already overwhelmed trying to keep up with all of them. Even though I'm overwhelmed, I love reading the posts and some are so fascinating and educational that I'm constantly learning. Some are so darn funny that I laugh out loud. I'm always thankful for a good laugh.
